Rules and Documentation for the Internship
Students enrolled in the Bachelor's degree program in Biology of Human and Environmental Health must complete an internship of approximately 8 weeks under the supervision of a Tutor.

Internships can be conducted at a research laboratory of the University of Padova or, based on specific agreements, at private or public companies and organizations.

The internship may begin in the second semester of the third year, unless otherwise authorized. The internship activity awards the student 5 ECTS credits, requiring a total commitment of 125 hours over at least 8 weeks.
The internship is compulsory and must be completed only after meeting the requirements for the admission to the third year of the course.
Any ADDITIONAL PERIODS MUST BE AGREED upon with the program delegate (Prof. Gaia Codolo) and formalized as "voluntary laboratory attendance", distinct from the one with ECTS credits.

  Documentation to Start the Internship

Before starting the internship, it is necessary:

  • Fill out the Training and Orientation Project;
  • Upload in Moodle the “Self-certification of enrolment and transcript of records” available in Uniweb.

The training project must be completed BEFORE THE START OF THE INTERNSHIP (at least 15 days in advance).

  • Send the Project signed by the company tutor to the Career Service office (stage@unipd.it), which through the E-Sign Platform will also have it signed by the student and the Delegate of the Rector (Prof. Gaia Codolo);
  • Once all signatures are obtained, the document is complete. A day or two before the start of the internship, the project should appear in the "approved" status; if not, it is necessary to contact the Career Service office, to check for possible delays in the start.

The training project must be completed with particular attention to correctly filling out all required fields and must be downloaded in PDF/A format.
Any changes from the initial training project must be communicated in advance by email from the company tutor to stage@unipd.it.

  Internship Abroad

It is possible to complete an internship abroad. The Erasmus+ Traineeship  or Ulisse mobility programs provide funding for scholarships. The documentation required at the beginning and end of the internship remains the same.
